Revenue Commissioner announces area senior center visits: over-age 65 homestead exemptions

It’s time again for area seniors to sign up for their over-age 65 homestead exemptions.

Property owners over age 65 can qualify for an extra ad valorem tax discount on their owner-occupied homestead property, but they must register for this homestead exemption per Alabama law. To explain it all, Cullman’s Revenue Commissioner, Barry Willingham, is speaking at all area senior centers this fall.

  • Cold Springs Senior Center:  Tuesday, September 4 at 10:30
  • Hanceville Senior Center: Wednesday, September 5 at 9:45
  • Center Hill Senior Center: Wednesday, September 5 at 10:30
  • Baileyton Senior Center: Thursday, September 6 at 10:30
  • Colony Senior Center: Monday, September 10 at 10:00
  • Brushy Pond Senior Center: Tuesday, September 11 at 9:45
  • Dodge City Senior Center: Tuesday, September 11 at 10:30
  • Crane Hill Senior Center: Wednesday, September 12 at 9:45
  • Jones Chapel Senior Center: Wednesday, September 12 at 10:30
