Every year, ad valorem taxes for all properties are due October 1 and payable through December 31. This means unpaid property taxes are considered delinquent on January 1, and penalties and interest accrue beginnig on New Year’s Day. The final resolution of unpaid property taxes occurs each May when those properties for which taxes are unpaid are sold in the annual land tax sale.
No one wants to lose his or her property in a land tax sale, so if this situation applies to you, please make payment via telephone, internet, or in person at the Cullman County Courthouse or one of the satellite locations in Baileyton, Dodge City, or Hanceville.
