Beginning December 8, 2023, all 67 Alabama counties will the conversion of the titling system provided by the Alabama Department of Revenue for all motor vehicles and manufactured homes. The Alabama Vehicle Information Network (ALVIN) was announced by the Alabama Department of Revenue earlier this year.
On December 7, Cullman residents may process new title applications and new tag purchases until 3:00 p.m. No staff will be able to process new titles or new tag purchases, including tag personalizations, after 3:00 p.m. on December or at all on Friday, December 8. Further, the public motor vehicle tag portal, through which customers may reserve their preferred personalizations (or check availability), will no longer be available under the legacy system.
The staff of the Cullman Revenue Commissioner appreciates your patience through this state-mandated conversion. The in-office processing time for new vehicle and manufactured home titles and personalized motor vehicles may take longer than typically experienced, especially during the initial days following the conversion as all 67 Alabama counties work with the new software provider.
