Mavis Martin Retires from Cullman Revenue Commission

This week, Cullman Revenue Commissioner Barry Willingham announced the retirement of one of his longest-tenured employees, Mavis Martin. Martin, who first began working with Cullman County in 1980, has been a part of the Revenue Commission department as a property tax and motor vehicle staffer, serving as the motor vehicle staff supervisor since 2009.

Current and former co-workers, family, and friends gathered to commemorate Martin’s years of service on Thursday, September 20 with an Alabama football-themed tailgate celebration. Martin is an avid Alabama Football fan, and in honor of her retirement celebration, employees dressed in their crimson and white to surprise her.

Willingham presented Martin with a plaque honoring her commitment to service. “We are all going to miss Mavis, but at the same time, we’re happy for this next season of her life. She gets to enjoy travelling with Joey [her husband, Joey Martin] and can look forward to new adventures outside of work.”
