October 1 marks the start of tax season in Alabama

October 1 marks the start of a busy season for Alabama motor vehicle and property owners.

All motor vehicle owners whose last name begins with U, V, W, X, Y, or Z may renew their annual registrations via the website at www.cullmanrevenuecommissioner.com, in person at the Cullman County Courthouse or any annex at Baileyton, Dodge City, or Hanceville, or via the USPS. Owners should receive their courtesy reminders via the USPS on October 1 (but owners may renew their registrations even without their courtesy notices). Owners have until October 31 to renew their annual motor vehicle registrations.

Business vehicles and mobile home registrations may be renewed October 1 through November 30.

All real and personal property taxes for the 2020 tax year become due October 1 and are payable through December 31, 2020 with no interest and penalties. As with motor vehicle registrations, payments for property taxes may be made online, in person, or by mail.

For any questions or comments, email the Revenue Commissioner at revenue@co.cullman.al.us or contact any of the offices via telephone. See the website “contacts” page for specific telephone information.
