Only weeks remain to pay delinquent 2018 ad valorem property taxes

Have you ever wondered what happens when someone doesn’t pay his taxes on time?

Well, the first thing that happens is the accrual of interest and penalties until such time that the taxes are paid. What does this mean for you?

If your 2018 property taxes are not paid by Monday, May 6, 2019 then the tax lien assessed by the State of Alabama will be sold at auction on Tuesday, May 7 in the Cullman County Commission meeting room.
Tax liens sold at auction continue to accrue interest until the past due taxes, penalties, and interest are paid by the property owner.

If you haven’t paid your 2018 taxes, there’s still time before the May 7 tax lien auction.

No personal checks are accepted, but any other form of certified payment is acceptable for 2018 property taxes. Pay in person at the Cullman County Courthouse or one of the satellite locations in Baileyton, Dodge City, or Hanceville. Or you may pay online at www.cullmanrevenuecommissioner.com. (Additional charges of 2.5% + a $0.30 transaction fee apply to all card transactions, in-house or online.)
